Are you ready to vote in 2019 Municipal Primary Election?

2019 Municipal Primary election is just around the corner! In addition to city mayors, we will see city councilors, judges, and clerks on the ticket.  Such elected officials serve as the legislative branch on the city level. They shape the fiscal policies of our cities and are responsible for levying taxes and authorize financial allocations to fund operations. Also, they make decisions pertaining to a myriad of local services, including infrastructure and the safety of city residents. You can learn more about their responsibilities here.

Historically, municipal primary election has low voter turn out. Numbers reported thus far states that this year’s election is no exception. With a fairly low voter turn out, each voice gets louder and few votes can sway the election. Thus, Indiana Muslim Advocacy Network (IMAN Associates) strongly urges Muslim Hoosiers to practice their civic duties and cast their ballots in this election.

Given that IMAN Associates is committed to mobilizing the Muslim votes in Indiana, we are happy to provide our members with information about their city races. In each of the following links, you will find:
  1. City district maps that will help you locate your district.
  2. List of incumbents and candidates running for the mayoral and city council races.
  3. Links to available websites of incumbents and candidates to help you learn about their political campaigns.
  4. List of early voting sites, dates and times.
  5. A link to help you locate your polling place on primary election day on May 7.
